Black Road Knight 10/2009

Matt Beckdolt has partnered up with none other than Carl Brouhard to produce custom billet aluminum accessories and components for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Several of those components are showcased here on the ’08 Harley-Davidson Road Glide that Matt built as his personal riding machine. We caught up with Matt in Spearfish Canyon during the 2009 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which by all preliminary counts was pretty much back to normal in terms of attendance. The canyon was wall-to-wall motorcycles 24/7 for the entire week. It slowed down a little after dark, but not by much.

Matt’s black Bagger is powered by a Twin Cam motor that was completely rebuilt by Chris Rivas. The exhaust system is a Brouhard modified BUB assembly. On the intake side, a Delphi fuel injection unit feeds the motor. An S&S bumpstick maintains valve timing. Just a tad over 120 rear-wheel horsepower makes Matt’s Road Knight a genuine highway burner. A six-speed Harley-Davidson gearbox transmits power to the rear wheel via belt.
