Flat Black & Fast 11/2009
Tony Maniscalchi must have known that motor vehicles that are painted shiny, glossy colors like red or orange seem to attract the ever inquisitive eyes of traffic officers more than the whites, blacks or other dark colors. Von Dutch wouldn’t have given a flying eyeball what color the bike was painted, as long as it had pin striping and was flat black. Kind of like the Henry Ford black thing! We’ve all heard the expression “it looks like it’s going a hundred miles an hour when it’s just sitting at the curb.” Sanchez at Uptown Cycle shot the flat black paint, then the Cycle Visions crew assembled her. Take a look at the lower rear of the saddlebags and notice the LED, lighted flying eyeballs that shine to the rear. A little extra visibility to the rear is a good thing, especially when your motorcycle is painted flat black.
