Alan Pope's Bagger 12/2009
Alan Pope always wanted a very special color and graphics design for his ’08 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide, and he’s always had his eyes on the work of internationally famous bike painter, Dave Perewitz. Alan Pope lives in Atlanta, GA, south of the Mason Dixon line. Dave’s paint shop is in the state of Massachusetts, deep in Yankee territory. Alan had his motorcycle transported to the Perewitz facility where Big Ron stripped her down. After going a few rounds discussing colors, shapes, and effects, the ultimate design criteria was finalized by Alan and Dave. It took about 90 days for Alan to get his motorcycle back. Fabrication and assembly were done by Big Ron and “Dirty” respectively. Russ Wernimont Designs front and rear fenders were the first to get the color/graphics treatment.
A few motor goodies were bolted into place by the Perewitz performance gurus. Alan’s 96” Twin Cam motor now sports a dyno-tuned Power Commander ECU, a Cycle Visions MoFlow air cleaner (it really flows mo). No horsepower numbers were provided, but Alan was very pleased with the increase in performance after the above mentioned items were installed. The drivetrain and chassis remain stock until next year.
