If you’ve been following the Kendall Johnson Customs project in American Bagger, you’ve watched Kendall and his crew morph a very tired ’87 Harley-Davidson® Tour Glide into a modern Twin Cam powered custom that anybody would be proud to own and ride. The old Evolution motor and transmission went to eBay, and a KJC built Twin Cam power plant took its place.
Revolution Performance big-bore (4.45”) cylinders and pistons, along with a set of Harley-Davidson Twin Cam cylinder heads make up the top end. Zack “Professor Flow” Johnson drew on his years of experience and expertise to shape the ports for maximum flow. Keeping the cylinders clean after ignition is a D&D Boarzilla exhaust system.
An All Balls starter motor has been installed to spin this motor when it’s time to go riding. A Harley-Davidson transmission case contains Baker Drivetrain DD5 innards. Power arrives at the gearbox through a Barnett Scorpion clutch.
A Hoppe Industries fairing and Kendall’s 5.5” front fender are two of the major sheet metal changes. A Bad Dad rear fender overlay is used to jazz up the rear end. A Legend Air Suspension system soaks up the bumps out back.
