Hideaway Bagger 3/2010

There is an old saying, “If you let a committee build a horse you will end up with a camel”. Well in this case, that saying proved to be false. Mark Bradshaw, the owner of the Hideaway Grill in Cave Creek, AZ, decided to have an esteemed committee of Arizona’s finest bike builders build him a custom Bagger. Do the names Jim Nasi, Paul Yaffe, John Shope, Nick Trask and Steel Vision Design ring any bells? Each builder was given the bike for a period of time, to allow them to work their magic. Mark could only guess what the finished product would look like, a horse, a camel, or something in between. The completed motorcycle was debuted at the Hideaway Grill’s 11th anniversary party. We thought this Bagger looked so good, we decided to put it on the cover.

A 96” Harley-Davidson® Twin Cam motor equipped with a Trask Intercooled Turbo, Bagger Nation air cleaner and Jim Nasi/Cary Faas Racing designed exhaust assembly makes her go. The motor is also equipped with a Super Tuner and 255 cams from Screamin’ Eagle, and Trask Performance pushrods. Rear wheel horsepower is 114 with 129 ft.-lbs. of wheel spinning torque. Dyno tuning was done by Nick Trask.

Steel Vision Design created and implemented the paint and graphics on the Hideaway Bagger as part of the group effort. All the builder signatures are integrated into the paint scheme. The chassis is stock with the exception of an Arnott Aldan Air Suspension system installed, making the ride height adjustable when parked or on the fly. A Paul Yaffe Originals Yaxle front axle kit is installed on the H-D fork, which was blacked out by Yaffe.
