PROJECT 250 9/2009
If you’re a regular American Bagger reader, you’ve most likely been following the various project bikes being cooked up here at the magazine. Project 250 was named such because when it’s finished it will have a 250mm rear wheel/tire assembly mounted in that very custom Rolling Thunder Bagger chassis. Power from a JIMS 131” motor will make spinning that big rear rubber donut a piece of cake. In order to get that big motor running, a gas tank is required. Fat Katz supplied their Cool 7 gas tank with flush-mount filler. The integrated hand-formed dash houses the center fill pop-up gas cap and adds another dimension to the shape of the tank. This tank was intended for installation on a stock motorcycle, so slight modifications to the rear mounting tabs is required for this installation. The Cool 7 has a high arch on the bottom that follows the rocker boxes perfectly, and it has a seven gallon capacity!
